1001 Sonatas
From 1984 to 1986 Boudewijn Buckinx wrote his "1001 Sonatas" for violin and piano. After the first performances of selected sonatas by Wim de Moor (violin) and Bart Zwaan (piano), the entire work was finally premiered in 1988 at the "Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik". The pianist Claude Coppens played all sonatas together with the violinists Wim de Moor, Robert Szreder, Paul Klinck and? The entire piece was also performed in Brussels (1989), Ghent (1994) and Kiel (1998).
The "1001 sonatas" were recorded 2000 at "Hessischer Rundfunk" with Paul Klinck, violin, and Daan Vandewalle, piano, initially for a multi-CD project by HR, which was unfortunately subsequently discontinued. The recordings are still waiting to be released.
